MVTec is the developer and vendor of the general purpose machine vision software HALCON. This tool, optimized for the needs of OEMs and system integrators, helps engineers to set up their own solutions for a specific machine vision task.

Another powerful product of MVTec is ActivVisionTools. This family of tools allows OEMs and system integrators to develop powerful machine vision applications quickly and easily without the need of writing a single line of code. ActivVisionTools is based upon HALCON and therefore inherits the speed, robustness, and accuracy, but hides the complexity of machine vision from the user and presents solutions for common tasks such as measuring objects, reading bar codes, blob analysis, or OCR.

Furthermore, MVTec builds customized solutions – from consultancy, studies, and prototypes up to integrated products. MVTec is specialized in software solutions for machine vision knowing that many, even real-time, applications can nowadays be built using standard hardware and frame grabbers. Moreover, MVTec's team has an excellent background in handling image sequences and 3D measurements as well as in processing images from different sources like CT, MR, X-ray.
