Calibration
- Highest accuracy: Calibration
is the key for achieving highest accuracy in
machine vision.
|
HALCON enables you to calibrate your
camera very easily. With a powerful set of operators
you can remove lens distortions from your images and
measure objects in world coordinates. |
 |
 |
 |
- Multi-View 3D calibration: An
explicit and precise description of your area or line scan setup,
even for complex distortions: A small set of internal and external
camera parameters map the image coordinates to real world
coordinates permitting, for example, subpixel-accurate
measurements up to 1 µm in a field of view of 10 mm —
also with line scan cameras. HALCON's hand-eye-calibration is
crucial for robotic applications.

The calibration plate
enables HALCON to perform the camera calibration.

Distances on the caliper can be
measured in the presence of perspective distortions.

- Calibration plates:
Bundled with HALCON, you can buy
calibration plates from MVTec. These high-precision measurement
instruments are necessary to calibrate the set-up of a vision
system. This enables you to perform precise measurements even in
real-world coordinates. They are available in different materials
and sizes from 0.00065×0.00065m up to 0.2×0.2m.
Please note that calibration plates are only available bundled
with MVTec software.

While calibrating, a calibration
plate must be visible within the image, but it need not fill
the whole image completely. |
