Columbus, July 1998 |
Contents
This seminar introduces HALCON and its use in the field of aerial image
interpretation and remote sensing. This event is part of the
tutorial program of this year symposium of the ISPRS Commission III
on Object Recognition and Scene Classification from Multispectral
and Multisensor Pixels in Ohio, Columbus.
The seminar is presented by Dr. Wolfgang Eckstein, Managing
Director MVTec Software GmbH, and Dr. Carsten Steger, R&D MVTec
Software GmbH.
The following topics will be addressed:
- Using multiple channels, e.g. color, infrared, DEM, and the
information which can be derived from such sources.
- Generation and use of synthetic images, e.g. texture
filers.
- Extraction of objects by using geometric primitives like size
of areas, lines, or points.
- Discussion of how to use features, knowledge, models, and control
structures in order to design up an image interpretation system.
- How to construct aerial image interpretation systems.
- A lot of examples are presented on a computer online during the
seminar, e.g. extraction of roads, forests, and buildings.
