Product identification and traceability is a rapidly growing necessity for many of today’s manufacturers. Packaged goods are printed, marked, etched, or labeled with various bar codes, data codes, characters, and symbols to identify goods and provide critical manufacturing information. Automated systems designed to further process, handle, or trace these packages, must be able to accurately read these codes often at very high rates of speed. In some cases, the application of identifying marks is not feasible or practical, yet the need to automatically identify the products remains.  

 

MVTec’s machine vision software offers all the necessary methods and technologies for reading characters, codes, and symbols whether they’re printed, etched, stamped or otherwise applied. MVTec’s software can also identify objects based on visual texture features and color of the object. MVTec’s software provides a single software source for all needs of identification, packaging, tracking, tracing as well as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
