Statement to illegal usage of our software
"MVTec Software GmbH was founded in 1996. Since then, we have continued to develop and grow. Today, MVTec is one of the technology leaders in the field of machine vision. The software products HALCON and MERLIC as well as the Deep Learning Tool are used by thousands of customers worldwide in almost all industrial sectors and countless applications. Our customers are enthusiastic about the variety of machine vision methods, our own high-quality standards and our constant innovations. This makes us happy and spurs us on to continue creating added value for our customers.
After all, that is what our customers pay for. What we do not understand, however, is when our software is used illegally and without payment. This blatantly contradicts our understanding of fairness, respect, and honest cooperation. Illegal use of software is also unacceptable to all other companies in the market, as it distorts competition. We therefore call on all companies that are illegally using our HALCON and MERLIC software products to stop this practice. We would like to encourage companies that have been using our software illegally to contact us to establish a new long-term business relationship based on partnership. This means paying for the use of our software. MVTec customers benefit from the partnership by having continuous access to the latest innovations and product information, as well as our worldwide technical support and services.
