Communication and I/O Plugins for MERLIC RTE

MERLIC provides several plugins for different types of devices and communication technologies. However, there are two different types of plugins to which we will refer as "communication plugins" and "I/O plugins". Both can be configured in the MERLIC Runtime Environment Setup (MERLIC RTE Setup) but there are different requirements and restrictions for the configuration. Custom Communication Plugins

If you want to use a different communication device for which there is no MERLIC plugin, you can implement your own communication plugin for the respective device and use this device for MERLIC RTE. You can use the provided example communication plugins as basis for the plugin development because they are provided with their source code.
