Setting Up the Process Integration
To use MERLIC RTE, you first have to set up various independent resources before starting MERLIC RTE.
MVApps
Specify, which tool parameters and tool results are available in MERLIC RTE mode. These parameters and results are called MVApp parameters and MVApp results.
This is necessary if you want to enable that the values of the selected parameters can be changed for the execution in MERLIC RTE mode. It is also necessary to enable your communication device to query the selected result values in MERLIC RTE mode.
MERLIC recipes
In some cases, MERLIC recipe files are required to specify the parameterization of an MVApp. For more information, see MERLIC Recipe Files.
"Recipe" management
Define, which MVApps and MERLIC recipe files A MERLIC recipe represents a file with file ending ".mrcp", which references a specific MERLIC Vision App (MVApp) with a specific MVApp configuration. In MERLIC RTE, the process integration mode of MERLIC, recipes are used to load the referenced MVApp with the configuration as specified in the recipe. MERLIC recipes are only required if you want to set up mulitple pre-defined MVApp parameterizations for the same MVApp, or if you want to aktivate and use a specific acquisition sequence when loading an MVApp in MERLIC RTE are available in MERLIC RTE. An MVApp can also be provided directly to the recipe management without recipe. In this case, it will still be used in MERLIC RTE just like a recipe.
Communication device
Set up the communication device or the corresponding plugin used for the communication between MERLIC and the machine controller. MERLIC provides several plugins for different communication devices and technologies. There are basically two types of plugins to which we will refer as "communication plugins" and "I/O plugins". For more information on the provided plugins, see Communication and I/O Plugins for MERLIC RTE.
If you want to use MERLIC RTE on a Linux system, some additional setup steps are required to ensure that all required files are available and configured accordingly for Linux.
