Communication Tab
The " Communication" tab of the MERLIC RTE Setup enables you to configure all types of communication plug-ins both on the local system and on remote systems.
MERLIC already provides several communication plug-ins that can be used immediately after the installation.
It is also possible to configure custom communication plug-ins that were implemented using the provided SDK for the plug-in development. For more information, see the Communication Plug-in Development Manual.
Requirements
The configuration options in the "Communication" tab are only available if MERLIC RTE is currently running on the connected system. If you want to configure communication plug-ins on a remote system, you have to make sure to run MERLIC RTE on the connected system. Otherwise, no plug-in can be added or configured because no configuration service is available. For more information on connecting to a remote system, see Selecting the System for MERLIC RTE Setup.
The "Communication" tab is only available if MERLIC RTE is running on the selected system. Therefore, you have to make sure to first start MERLIC RTE.
Overview
On the left of the "Communication" tab, you can check which plug-ins are currently available for use. You can also add new instances of the respective plug-ins for the configuration. The main area on the right shows the parameters of the plug-in instance which is currently selected. If you select a plug-in instance that has been configured before, the latest configuration is loaded. Otherwise, the default configuration is shown. If you are finished with your configuration, you can save the changes and start with the execution of the plug-in.
Communication plug-ins can be instantiated multiple times, that is, you can use multiple instances of a plug-in with an individual configuration. In the "Communication" tab, you can therefore work with instances of the respective plug-in. If you add a new plug-in instance, you can check the current configuration for this instance and adjust the available user parameters that have been defined in the implementation of the respective plug-in. In addition, you can also start and stop the selected instances of the communication plug-ins in the "Communication" tab.
