Communication and I/O Plug-ins for MERLIC RTE

MERLIC provides several plug-ins for different types of devices and communication technologies. However, there are two different types of plug-ins to which we will refer as "communication plug-ins" and "I/O plug-ins". Both can be configured in the MERLIC Runtime Environment Setup (MERLIC RTE Setup) but there are different requirements and restrictions for the configuration. Custom Communication Plug-ins

If you want to use a different communication device for which there is no MERLIC plug-in, you can implement your own communication plug-in for the respective device and use this device for MERLIC RTE. You can use the provided example communication plug-ins as basis for the plug-in development because they are provided with their source code.
