MERLIC Directory Agent
The MERLIC Directory Agent tracks running MERLIC services such as MERLIC RTE and exposes these services on the network over HTTP(S) and WebSocket on a TCP port. For example, when connecting the MERLIC RTE Setup to a remote system, the MERLIC Directory Agent running on the selected remote system is queried for all available MERLIC services that are registered on the remote system. Depending on the available services, the respective tabs of the MERLIC RTE Setup will then be either enabled or disabled for configuration.
While working with MERLIC, the Directory Agent process ("merlic_directory_agent.exe") is automatically started. It is not required to start this process manually. When you are running multiple instances of MERLIC, only one Directory Agent will be running. However, different users on the same machine will each operate Directory Agent processes independently.
If the Directory Agent is running on a system, an HTML page is served with all relevant information of the Directory Agent. This way, you can look up the available MERLIC instances and their services in the browser.
