Create Rectangle

Use this tool to create one or more regions of interest (ROIs) in form of a rectangle. A default rectangle is automatically generated when the tool is inserted. You may adapt the size, position, and orientation of the rectangle or add further ones using the ROI button .

Parameters

Basic Parameters

Image:

This parameter represents the input image.

X Center:

This parameter defines the position of the rectangle in X direction. The "X Center" is measured at the center point of the rectangle. It is defined in pixels and set to 200 px by default. You can change the position interactively in the image by dragging the handle in the center of the rectangle. The value of the "X Center" is automatically adjusted. Alternatively you can change the position at the corresponding connector.

Y Center:

This parameter defines the position of the rectangle in Y direction. The "Y Center" is measured at the center point of the rectangle. It is defined in pixels and set to 200 px by default. You can change the position interactively in the image by dragging the handle in the center of the rectangle. The value of the "Y Center" is automatically adjusted. Alternatively you can change the position at the corresponding connector.

Major Length:

This parameter defines the major length of the rectangle. The "Major Length" is measured along the orientation arrow in the rectangle. It is defined in pixels and set to 100 px by default. You can change the length interactively in the image by dragging the borders perpendicular to the orientation arrow. The value of the "Major Length" is automatically adjusted. Alternatively you can change the length at the corresponding connector.

Minor Length:

This parameter defines the minor length of the rectangle. The "Minor Length" is measured along the orientation arrow in the rectangle. It is defined in pixels and set to 60 px by default. You can change the length interactively in the image by dragging the borders parallel to the orientation arrow. The value of the "Minor Length" is automatically adjusted. Alternatively you can change the length at the corresponding connector.

Orientation:

This parameter defines the angle in degrees that determines how much and in which direction the rectangle is rotated. The orientation is visualized by an arrow in the rectangle ROI. It is measured from the horizontal line through the center of the rectangle to the orientation arrow and is set to by default. You can change the "Orientation" of the rectangle by dragging the arrow handles in the corners of the rectangle or adjust the angle directly at the corresponding connector. The rectangle is rotated depending on the defined "Orientation" value.

Value

Description

0

The rectangle is not rotated.

1 to 180

The rectangle is rotated in counterclockwise direction.

−1 to −180

The rectangle is rotated in clockwise direction.

Additional Parameters

ROI:

This parameter defines the region of interest (ROI) for the processing. A default rectangle is automatically generated when the tool is inserted. You can adjust the default rectangle to your preferences or add further rectangular ROIs using the ROI button . If you want to use a rectangular ROI of a previous tool, you have to connect the parameter to the respective ROI result of a previous tool to make sure that an ROI is transmitted to this tool.

Results

Basic Results

Rectangle:

This result returns the created rectangular ROIs.

Tool State:

"Tool State" returns information about the state of the tool and thus can be used for error handling. For more information, see Tool State Result

Additional Results

Processing Time:

This result returns the duration of the most recent execution of the tool in milliseconds. The result is provided as additional result. Therefore, it is hidden by default but it can be displayed via the button beside the tool results. For more information see the section Processing Time in the tool reference overview.
