Connectors
Connectors are interactive elements shaped like tabs at the top and the bottom of a Tool Board. They are the graphical representation of the parameters, results, and triggers of a MERLIC tool.
In general, the connectors of all types of parameters are located on the top of a Tool Board whereas the connectors of all types of results are located on the bottom. This also applies to connectors representing triggers. The connectors of input triggers are located on top and the connectors of output triggers are located on the bottom of a Tool Board. Some connectors are displayed by default at the Tool Board. These connectors are called "basic parameters" and "basic results". Most MERLIC tools also have connectors that can be added manually via the button at the Tool Board. These connectors are called "additional parameters" and "additional results".
Depending on the type of the connector, it provides various options for configuration, for example, changing the value of a parameter or renaming parameters and results. When creating a MERLIC Vision App, the connectors are also used to setup the connections and thus the data transfer between the tools.
The connectors of tool parameters and results are also important when setting up the application for MERLIC RTE, the process integration mode of MERLIC, because you can add the desired parameters and results to the list of MVApp Parameters and Results for MERLIC RTE directly at the connectors. For more information about the process integration, see MERLIC Runtime Environment.
Connector Menu
When you right-click on a connector you can choose from the following options:
- Add the parameter or result to the MVApp Parameters or MVApp Results, respectively.
- Copy name to clipboard.
- Copy value to clipboard. This option is only available for parameters that are not iconic, that is, text and numbers. The parameter values can also be copied from the tooltip of the connector when inspecting the values of the respective tool parameter or tool result. For more information, see Data Connectors.
