Adjusting Parameters
MERLIC provides you with an interactive assistance, easyTouch and easyTouch+, to determine parameter values automatically for selected objects. Besides this, the parameters can also be adjusted manually at the respective connectors on the top left (tool parameters) and on the top right (training parameters) of the Tool Board. Data connectors that are displayed by default are called "Basic Parameters". Data connectors that can be added manually via the button are called "Additional Parameters".
The following sections describe how to adjust parameters interactively or manually.
Using easyTouch and easyTouch+
easyTouch
easyTouch is an interactive user assistance that is available for many MERLIC tools. It automatically estimates parameter values for selected objects in the image. These values may in some cases not be ideal for all images. Therefore you can always adapt values manually. Whenever values are changed, the result can immediately be previewed, since the tool is executed anew for every change. If the whole application should be executed, use the menu buttons for running the MERLIC Vision App once or continuously
.
- Move the mouse over an image in a tool with this feature.
- easyTouch analyzes the image at the mouse position, estimates values, and gives you visual feedback on your selection.
- Decide whether the displayed selection would solve your task.
- If the result seems appropriate, confirm the current selection with a mouse click.
- Multiple selections can only be performed if easyTouch+ is available.
easyTouch+
Some tools that have easyTouch, also have its 'plus' functionality easyTouch+. It allows you to add several selections using the easyTouch assistance.
- Make your first selection.
- Move the mouse over the image to get a preview of the next suitable selection.
- Press the Ctrl button and click to confirm the second selection.
- The second selection has now been added to the first and the results of the tool will encompass both selections.
- Add as many selections as you need.
While moving the mouse over the image a preview of the respective selection under the current mouse position is highlighted. As soon as the selection is confirmed with a mouse click the parameters are automatically determined. All parameter values that have been adjusted with easyTouch and easyTouch+ are highlighted in blue for a few seconds.

You may also adjust a parameter value manually at the respective connector.
