Embedded vision solutions for industrial applications

In industrial settings, especially in automated production, embedded systems are increasingly used. These compact, efficient devices generate little heat and are ideal for tight spaces. They must also be robust, able to withstand dust, vibrations, humidity, and water contact. Common embedded devices include handhelds, smartphones, tablets, vision sensors, smart cameras, and single-board computers. With integrated machine vision software, they enable a wide range of image processing applications, known as embedded vision.

Embedded Vision With MVTec Software

MVTec’s Embedded Vision solutions are designed specifically for embedded devices. Our software delivers optimal performance across all platforms, including deep learning technologies. We leverage acceleration technologies like GPU acceleration and the NEON instruction set extension to boost performance on Arm®-based platforms.

Our software supports key interfaces such as GigEVision, USB3Vision, Video4Linux, and MIPI CSI for image acquisition, and OPC UA for PLC communication.

HALCON (including deep learning technologies) is natively supported on Arm®-based platforms, eliminating the need for additional porting. Both HALCON and MERLIC offer flexible configuration and programming options for embedded vision applications.

MVTec also offers additional services, including customization, feasibility studies, and technical support.
