Image Filter In MVTec Software

MVTec software products provide a comprehensive collection of image filters for all image preprocessing tasks. These filters have always been part of MVTec HALCON and are used by customers worldwide in a wide range of applications.

Representation of a Single Image Filter in HALCON.
With the call of a single filter there is no need to write complex image analysis.

MVTec's powerful filtering methods support Regions of Interest (ROI) and automatic operator parallelization (AOP). 

This significantly increases efficiency and performance by limiting operations to relevant pixels and optimizing the use of modern multi-core processors.

USING IMAGE FILTERS

Image Enhancement

Contrast improvement, illumination correction, scaling, histogram equalization.

Smoothing

Edge-preserving and advanced smoothing, Gaussian smoothing, binomial filter, mean filter, rank filters (median, separable median, weighted median, etc.), midrange filter, sigma filter, trimmed mean, salt-and-pepper noise reduction, recursive smoothing filters.

Edge Filters

Canny, Deriche, Lanser, Shen, Frei, Kirsch, Roberts, Prewitt, Robinson, Sobel, Laplace, Difference of Gaussians (DoG), Gaussian derivatives, edge closing.

Point Filters (Interest Points)

Förstner, Harris, Lepetit, and Sojka operators with subpixel accuracy.

Inpainting

Restoration of missing image information.

Texture Analysis

Laws' filter (3x3, 5x5, 7x7), deviation, entropy.

Arithmetic Operations

Scaling, addition, subtraction, multiplication, absolute value, maximum, minimum, inversion, square root, trigonometric functions, logarithm, exponential function, exponentiation.

Color Space Transformations

CIELAB, HSV, HSI, YIQ, YUV, CIEXYZ, HLS, IHS.

Fourier Transformation

Fast FFT, Gaussian, mean, derivative, and Gabor filters, bandpass, high-pass, and low-pass filters, energy, phase, and power analysis.

Hough Transformation

Line and circle detection.

Other Filters

Custom filters, point filters, grayscale skeleton, principal component analysis (PCA), topographic sketch, Gaussian pyramid, type conversion.
