MVTec Machine Vision Software

MVTec's software enables applications such as surface inspection, optical quality control, robot guidance, identification, measurement, classification, and much more. In addition, it offers new automation solutions for the Industrial Internet of Things through the use of modern technologies such as 3D vision, deep learning, and embedded vision.

Beyond standard software products, MVTec develops customized solutions – from consulting and prototyping to fully integrated systems. These solutions run on standard PCs or embedded platforms such as Arm®-based devices. Our team brings decades of experience in processing all types of image data, including 3D, infrared, hyperspectral, and X-ray.

Founded in 1996 as a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich and FORWISS, MVTec is a family-owned company. Our highly qualified experts – some with more than 30 years of experience – drive innovation and ensure exceptional quality.

We Teach Machines To See

MVTec’s expertise is embodied in its products – HALCON, MERLIC, and the Deep Learning Tool. These solutions address different needs but share one foundation: advanced machine vision technology. Depending on project size, complexity, and programming requirements, users can choose HALCON, MERLIC, the Deep Learning Tool, or a combination of these. HALCON's integrated development environment HDevelop serves as the connecting link – it allows users to create custom tools in HALCON and integrate them directly into MERLIC, combining flexibility with ease of use. The Deep Learning Tool can be used both in combination with HALCON or MERLIC to best prepare image data for all deep learning applications.

The neighborhood meeting place “Na klar!” in southwest Munich supports children, accompanies young people, and strengthens families through community work. As a central drop-in center, it is open to all residents. With group meetings for all ages, mentoring, and German courses, “Na klar!” creates a place for connection, reduces prejudices, and fosters neighborhood spirit.

Green City e.V.

Since 1990, Green City e.V. has been committed to making Munich greener. The organization promotes sustainable mobility, responsible energy use, urban design, and environmental education for all generations. True to its motto “Environmental protection is fun!”, Green City e.V. runs around 150 activities and projects each year, including the Streetlife Festival, urban gardening, the Munich cycling referendum, and clothing swap parties.

StudyTutors e.V. is a Munich-based non-profit initiative run by volunteer students. The association offers free tutoring for children and young people from disadvantaged and low-income families, creating more equal opportunities in education.
