The deep learning technology "Global Context Anomaly Detection" opens up completely new application areas in the field of machine vision. Until now, it has only been possible to detect structural anomalies strictly on a local level. The new Global Context Anomaly Detection feature is currently the only technology that can also “understand” the logical content of the entire image. The deep learning technology was developed by MVTec's in-house research department.
The technology is available as a feature in MVTec's software products HALCON and MERLIC.
