Working with XYZ mappings: Efficient 2.5D image processing

This basic training introduces you to XYZ mappings in MVTec HALCON. You will learn what XYZ mappings are, how they enable switching between 3D point clouds and XYZ images, and the advantages of doing so.

Target group

This basic training is aimed at HALCON users who want to learn more about working with XYZ mappings. 

Objectives

After finishing this course, you will:

  • understand what XYZ mappings and 2.5D image processing are,
  • know the advantages of working with XYZ mappings,
  • be able to transform XYZ images into 3D point clouds and vice versa, and
  • be able to identify machine vision applications and HALCON operators that benefit from XYZ mappings.

It will take you approximately 45 minutes to complete the course with all modules.
