Introduction to surface-based matching with MVTec HALCON

Get started with surface-based matching in HALCON. This introductory tutorial explains key concepts and basic steps for detecting textured 3D objects.

This tutorial introduces surface-based matching with MVTec HALCON.

Surface-based matching can be used to locate objects using a 3D sensor. As an example, we create a surface model of a pipe joint using a CAD file. Then, we find the pipe joint in several 3D scenes. Lastly, we learn about different parameters of this process and how to find possible problems.
